VENTUREAST BANGALORE OFFICE

A workspace in the hub of Bangalore city, we had the good fortune of working with Mr. Sarath Naru, a client with an inventive mind and a practical understanding of design. The result was a playful collaboration, working with exposed materials to create original and beautiful pieces of furniture. On a plan level, the space was divided and organized into cabins and meeting rooms, creating interesting common areas.

At you enter, we have used rough uncut stone, traditionally a humble outdoor material, to create a long bench which extends into side tables on either side. Butcher block wood was sourced to form the desktops supported by intricately fabricated metal legs. Locally woven fabrics were used to panel the receptionist’s desk, softly lit from behind perforated metal sheets. The partners’ cabins were designed to be dynamic, accommodating for when it needed to open up into a larger space for which we created slide and fold partition doors on wheels with semi-private frosted screens. The smaller elements were tied together to create a distinct atmosphere for the space

We enjoyed designing the landscaping on the terraces. Using the plant beds as a base for our bar table, an interesting dining experience was created with a transparent glass top looking down into a white pebbled garden with succulents in clusters. A little ecosystem by itself.
