prabhal residence

When Prabhal approached us with his home, we were thrilled at the opportunity of designing a space for our young friend. The three-bedroom apartment, located in Sadashivnagar, was used as a home to save on travel time in the city. We wanted to change that.

The liberty to design is rare form of trust which we were glad to have in this case. We decided to be bold, using darker colours and chequered fabrics to create a dynamic space with lots of drama.

The common areas of the house uses a base coffee tone backdrop to set off a deep indigo blue wall that wraps itself around a corner of the room. The teak wood beading that runs through the room forms a framework for the art to be placed while becoming a work of art by itself. A jacquard vintage styled couch with the Eames chair and brass lights complete the room to create an eclectic mix of styles
In the master bedroom, we have used a concrete textured wall as a backdrop for the wooden panel & bed. Soft fabrics, and rich wood panels compliment the cold classic feel of the concrete wall. An organic study table along with a single armchair with an ottoman completes the room.
