The brief was for a 6500sqft 4BHK villa newly bought in the outskirts of Bangalore to move away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The design required us to retain the feel of a holiday home, a sanctuary to come back to.

For a family who believed in spending time together, the common areas of the house functioned as important nodes. The entrance lobby uses layers of wood and plant which plays an underlying prominent visual in the house bringing in a cosy warmth to the otherwise large spaces. The spaces use wood & metal in various combinations with a soft colour palate to retain a subtle aesthetic.

The first floor is retained as the private family quarters designed with soft fabrics and colours. The children’s bedrooms use playful working elements which include blackboard walls and common study desks integrated with lounge seating. The Master bedroom is spacious and has been designed to accommodate for a cosy lounge at the end of the bed. The terrace is landscaped as a zen garden with a water body.
The house is designed simply and honestly.
