Project 366
Our First Project, very close to our hearts. We were given a 3500 sqft villa, to transform in a home, a sanctuary to come back to. This is where we were let loose to experiment with material and detail to which we owe our wonderful clients a great deal, Chidambaram and Deepali for taking the first plunge with us.

Our biggest victory was a minor change to the plan which turned an unused space into a semi-outdoor extension of the dining for the family to retire to after a delicious meal, thus making space for our very important bar, which held the prominent pivotal spot, a well-used space by guests on social occasions as we came to discover later on.
The use of Athangudi tiles in the living room and balcony, added a touch of tradition to contrast the contemporary furniture, resulting in an eclectic mix of style. Above the dining table floats a custom made light fixture of backlit stone veneer, we borrowed from nature. The kitchen boasts of one of our favorite inventions, a rotating counter. We wanted Deepali to have the option of rolling out extra counter space if she needed to. The counter extends out to create more workspace and is neatly tucked back in when not in use. On the first floor you will find many little interesting details from crisscrossed metal handles to re-purposed furniture pieces.

We've touched every little corner of the house with quirky details which add to the uniqueness of the house. Many important lessons were learned during this project.
